CoCo is a delightful adult female Chihuahua. She is very small at about 5#, and gets along well with other dogs and cats. We think she is about 5 years old. She is extremely sweet and people oriented. Her ideal home would provide a lot of lap time and cuddling. She likes lounging in the sun in the yard, but would do fine in an apartment home too. She is well leash trained and is very quiet both in her crate and in the house. She potties outside very well, if you go out with her. Like many tiny dogs, she is NOT a fan of our Wisconsin winters, and uses a potty pad when it is very cold. CoCo is listed as special needs because she has a genetic eye condition called "dry eye". Basically, she can not produce enough tears to keep her eyes sufficiently moist. She needs special eye drops 2 times a day to stimulate tear production. She has been evaluated by a canine opthamoligist who assured us that while she can not be "cured", neither will she get worse. She is used to getting the drops, so for her, it is no big deal, especially if she gets a treat afterwards. The drops are $40 per bottle, and last a couple of months. Because she is so small, she will not be adopted to a home with large dogs, or children under the age of 10.
