    MARCH 2002

    Chicagoland Family Pet Show

The Family Pet Show at Arlington Racetrack was on March 15-17 in 2002. We had many volunteers help out, and the event was a great success! We had a pet store puppy with a broken leg (who was scheduled for euthanization because of her leg) surrendered to us, and we had several lucky dogs find their forever homes.
Why not come out and check out the booth in 2003! Watch here for details.

Join us for a day of food, fun, and Sighthounds! In the morning we will be running straightline practices for adults and puppies. This is a great opportunity to let your sighthound dust off those legs and stretch out! After a morning of running, we will have a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to pass. During lunch we will have a LGRA Rules Q&A. Don’t know what a foul is? Not sure how points are earned and titles awarded? You will!
After lunch we will have some fun with our dogs and have a trick contest and fun classes like curliest tail and longest legs. There will be sighthound and non-sighthound divisions, so bring all your dogs and tell your friends! Following that will be an All Breed fun run. Dogs of any parentage will get to try racing! Sighthounds will have an opportunity to run as well. Throughout the day we will be training anyone interested in lure operation, foul judging, line judging, etc.

    AUGUST 2002

THE ITALIAN GREYHOUND CLUB OF AMERICA SPECIALITY SHOW AND RESCUE PARADE

COME JOIN US FOR THE IGCA RESCUE PARADE !!!!!

The national speciality dog show for Italian Greyhounds is held every year in Canfield Ohio. Last year, over 300 IGs came to the show! This is a terrific chance to learn about IGs, and to see tons of IGs at one time. To celebrate our rescue dogs, proud owners of rescued IGs get to participate in a parade. Click HERE to see photos from the Millenium Rescue Parade.

This year's national was, as usual, an exciting, fun event with more IGs that you could shake a stick at. Next year, why not make the trip to Canfield, and take advantage of this unrivaled opportunity to learn all about our wonderful breed?

    OCTOBER 2002

The Fourteenth Annual Wisconsin Dog Fair

The Dog Fair in 2001 was a big success as usual. Although we were unable to have a resuce booth this year, Pat and Roger brought Avanti and foster Marla to officially represent IGs. They got to meet and greet hundreds of people, and Avanti was our breed rep in the Parade of Breeds. It was a lot of hard work, but Pat and Roger did a great job educating the public!
Next year, make the trip to Madison and join us!

    LGRA LURE COURSING

Italian Greyhounds are eligible to particiapte in LGRA Lure Coursing Events. Iggies without AKC Registration numbers need to be supplied with an ILP number by the AKC before they can officially compete.
