As you have probably read, house training the Italian Greyhound can be a very difficult task. Not being house trained is the number one reason Italian Greyhounds are surrendered into our program..hundreds each year! Please consider this before adoption and be prepared to do some house training no matter how old the IG is you adopt. Although a lifelong commitment with set backs each time the weather changes, house training an IG can be accomplished with some work and the right attitude and approach. However it is often a 365 day a year job and a way of life. House training is something you should never take for granted with the IG. House training an Italian Greyhound is very different from house training a large breed or even some smaller breeds.

Please see our house training page for house training suggestions.
